Completion of the removal of Spanish Bluebells in the triangle at the Mill Lane entrance to the Parks. English Bluebells will be planted there in the autumn.

The fencing has been started and a footpath for wheelchair access have been installed.
The remainder of the fencing to contain cattle in the wildflower meadow will be installed when we have written permission from the Environment Agency.
13 December 2011
Belper Town Council have decided to grant us the money to provide an interpretation board for the wildlife border in Coppice Car Park. This will be ordered early in the New Year.

Belper having won two gold awards in consecutive years in the East Midlands in Bloom competition has been nominated to enter the Britain in Bloom competition in 2012. The theme of the competition is “Wild about wildflowers”.

The East Midlands in Bloom Judges comment on the Parks was that they were particularly impressed with the extremely good wildflower meadow and the proposals for its extension.
Belper won a Gold Award and was first again in the Large Town Category.

Green Flag judges comment on the Parks “Lovely site, a surprise so close to town - feel there are opportunities being missed to link more closely with the town.
